Raymor Enters Into the Asian Market Following Key Nanotechnology Events in Japan
Raymor Industries Inc. (TSX VENTURE: RAR), a leading developer and producer of single-walled carbon nanotubes, nanomaterials and advanced materials, announces that the company has open up new markets for its single-walled carbon nanotubes (C-SWNT) and its spherical titanium powders in Asia, primarily through the company’s participation in several key nanotechnology events in Japan recently, including “nano tech 2007”, the world’s largest international nanotechnology exhibition and conference. As a result of the company’s efforts, Raymor has begun negotiating with distributors and end-users in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China for the company’s C-SWNT and powders. New applications and markets for C-SWNT have been identified and will be targeted. Negotiations have also begun for the acquisition of licenses related to these applications.
Representative from Raymor, including Mr. Stephane Robert, President and CEO of Raymor Industries, were in Japan from February 19th to March 2nd, 2007 to seek out and establish new business relationships with companies in the region. This was accomplished with the company’s participation at several nanotechnology events:
– Raymor was an exhibitor at the 6th annual “nano tech 2007”, the world’s largest international nanotechnology exhibition and conference, which was held at Tokyo Big Sight. In 2006, over 45,000 people attended the event, and over 385 exhibitors were on hand, and these numbers were likely surpassed for the 2007 event.
– Mr. Robert presented the company and its products to the Japanese business community as part of BIZMATCH, an event organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Raymor was selected from among many different international companies who applied to present at this event. JETRO is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. JETRO organized several meetings for Raymor with potential clients during the company’s visit to Japan.
– Mr. Robert also presented the company and its products at the Canada-Japan Symposium on Nanotechnology & Technology Partnering Seminar, held at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo. This event was held to provide a forum for Canadian companies to meet with their Japanese counterparts and establish new business relationships.
These events, coupled with the support of diplomats from both the Canadian and Quebec government, helped facilitate many introductions and meetings which will lead to longer term relationships in both Raymor’s C-SWNT and powders businesses.
Commenting on the news, Mr. Robert had the following to say:
“Our single-walled carbon nanotubes and our spherical titanium powders are two product lines with a world wide demand. The progression and acceptance of nanotechnology and advanced materials, as was clearly evident at “nano tech 2007″, made Japan a natural choice to launch our sales and marketing efforts in Asia. With the quality of the companies that we have been introduced to which covers also South Korea, Taiwan, and parts of China, Raymor has identified both new applications for our products, and new partners to grow our nanotubes and powders businesses. Following organized visits of both research facilities and industrial plants, I can conclude that Raymor is still very much ahead of the competition with respect to our single-walled carbon nanotubes production technology.”
