1 dead, 1 injured in Abra accident
PIÑARRUBIA, Abra: A tricycle driver was killed instantly, and his passenger was injured after the tricycle they were riding was hit by a mixer truck along the national road in Sitio Matit, Barangay Malamsit here on Sept. 3, 2021 past 3 p.m.The fatality was Renil Bragado Borreta, 40, and the injured passenger was Marian Andres, 38.Both were residents of Barangay Maoay, Bangued, Abra.The Peñarrubia police’s initial investigation showed the tricycle that Borreta drove collided with the truck.The truck driver was identified as Hernando Tadeo Andres, 39, a resident of Barangay Sappaac, Bangued.Surrendering immediately after the accident, he was now under police custody.Meanwhile, Andres was brought to a hospital for treatment.According to the police, the accident was caused by human error, but the authorities did not assign blame to either the driver of the truck or of the tricycle.
