Bishop, 6 activists nabbed in South Sudan, says civil society group
SOUTH Sudan security forces have arrested seven people, including a top religious figure, a civil society organisation said today, as rights groups warn of a widening crackdown on critics in the East African nation.
The arrests, which police denied, come ahead of planned nationwide protests organised by the People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA), which has called for the country’s leadership to step down.
